The Mississauga Dolphins Elite team coming into this game having won their previous two games, look to play with confidence trying to pick up a 3rd straight win. The Dolphins had won the toss and elected to bat first.
Skipper Armaan Kapoor decided to keep the batting order the same as the previous game as it proved to work out in the teams favour putting up a big total at the end of the inning. Araf Shahid and Dhruv Patel opening for the team, looked to score big and early on taking advantage of the powerplay. With the first over being a maiden, Araf looked to add to the score as he scored a first ball boundary, bumping the score to 4 runs. His innings would come to a halt as he aired the ball later in the over and was out for 5.
With the team now 7 for 1, Armaan Kapoor would come in to play a captains knock early on. That is exactly what he did as he and Dhruv rotated the strike well and put up a 52 run partnership before Dhruv departed scoring 19 runs. Bashar Ashfaq would come onto the crease and he couldn’t do much as he was out for 0, 3 balls into his innings. With the momentum shifting over to Ahmadiyya, Taha Ali would step onto the crease looking to cement his position there, looking to stay for the long haul. Armaan Kapoor and Taha Ali put up a 52 run partnership of their own before Armaan Kapoor departed scoring a magnificent 69 runs. This was Armaan’s 2nd half century in the past 3 games.
With the Dolphins now 111 for 4 after 26 overs, Peer Abuzar would come on to bat. The two stayed on the crease with Taha rotating strike scoring runs before Taha and Abuzar were both dismissed in the same over. Taha scoring 18 runs while Abuzar walked out on 0 off 18 balls. Farzan Muljiani would come to bat with Hamza Hameed making his debut in the Elite Division. Having great success in the lower divisions, Hamza looks to replicate his success into this game. With 6 down, this partnership is a crucial one as these two batsmen need to play most of the overs out as runs are needed to make this game favourable towards the Dolphins. Being 119 for 6 after 32 overs, Farzan and Hamza would put up a 50 run partnership as Hamza departed scoring 18 runs in his debut, doing a great job supporting Farzan as he piled on the runs. Husnain Riaz would come to bat as he did a good job as well supporting Farzan before Husnain departed scoring 1 run.
Junior Muhammad Hassan would come on to bat as he patiently waited to go on. He promised many seniors a first ball six and he delivered as he would go down the track to smash a six over long on and over the trees. Farzan would go onto scoring his first half century of the season as he and Hassan would go onto finishing the innings playing the allotted 50 overs and having 210 on the board. Hassan finished his innings scoring 14 runs being not out and Farzan scoring 57 being not out as well.
With The Dolphins having to defend a very respectable 211, they look to go on with this game knowing their bowlers can restrict Ahmadiyya CC below the target and eventually winning this game. As usual, Husnain Riaz would start the attack for the Dolphins looking to pick up a first over wicket, and Taha Ali would come with a spinning attack from he other end. With an expensive first over, Taha Ali looked to gain some momentum. Taha does just that as Bashar Ashfaq took a great catch on the boundary for the first wicket of the game. With a couple 1 run overs back to back, Husnain Riaz would go onto bowl 5 dots in his over before picking up the 2nd wicket of the game on his last bowl of the over having Ahmadiyya CC 14 for 2 after 5 overs.
Dolphins seemed to ease off as Ahmadiyya CC batsmen would go on to having a 27 run partnership before their opening batsmen Imtiaz was dismissed by Taha Ali. 2 overs later, Husnain Riaz would strike agains picking up his 2nd wicket of the game, this being the 4th wicket in total so far. Ahmadiyya CC struggling to score runs now, their middle order would restore some faith as they would go onto having a 27 run partnership before Araf Shahid would get the breakthrough for the Dolphins picking up his 1st of the game.
Ahmadiyya CC struggling once again to score run, they would go to score 44 runs in the next 12 overs, losing 3 wickets in that span. Ahmadiyya CC now 114 for 8, the game seemed over for them at that point as the batsmen would go for big shots from there on losing another wicket a couple overs later, with debutant Hamza Hameed picking up his 1st wicket, leaving his mark in the elite division. Saad Ahmed bowling brilliantly so far would go to clean up the trash as he picked up the final wicket of the game, bowling out Ahmadiyya CC for 124, winning the game by 86 runs.
With success in every departed today, the Elite Dolphins team looks to rest before a couple practices this week, leading to their game against their rival the Mississauga Ramblers at Iceland.
