Coming into this game with batsmen struggling and a loss on their record from week 2. Dolphins look to bounce back and find their form, picking up their 2nd win of the season against the Toronto Lead Cricket Club. With the Toss won by the Mississauga Dolphins, Skipper Abdullah Amjad had elected to bat first.
With a terrible start to the inning, losing a wicket right off the bat, Dolphins batsmen continued to struggle and no runs were on board. Consistently losing wickets and not really maintaining any long partnerships, Dolphins Batsmen Peer Abuzar had remained calm throughout the inning, picking up the score for the Dolphins while also staying at bat.
With this time around the middle and lower order putting up some of the score, helped dolphins a little with the score. Abuzar continued to maintain his scoring pace and scored his first 50 of the season for the club. An outstanding inning the young lad played. The Mississauga Dolphins finished the inning for 129 for 9 in the allotted 40 overs.
With a decent total the Dolphins have to defend, Skipper Abdullah Amjad was put up to the task of defending this total. He had chosen Dolphins all time opening bowler Saad Ahmed to start the inning off and in the end it proved to be the right decision as the lefty picked up 4 wickets in his spell throughout the game.
With 5 wickets fallen at the 26 run mark, Dolphins looked to cruise their way to victory. They hadn’t taken their foot off the gas and were hungry for a win throughout the game all the way till the end. With secondary bowlers stepping up and picking wickets as well, Dolphins had the Toronto Lead CC all out for 70 in 28.2 overs.
With a great all round win and performance this week, Dolphins look to continue their success tomorrow, against the Team Tigers Cricket Club at Sunnybrook Park.
