Division 1: Finals – Dolphins Vs Stallions CC Preview

The Mississauga Dolphins Division 1 team, coming through adversity throughout the season, starting the season off on a terrible start with many thinking the Dolphins won’t even make the playoffs, the Dolphins find themselves in the Finals against the Stallions Cricket Club.

Starting the season off with a win then going on multiple losing streaks are what brought the moral down within the team. There was no motivation going forward and everyone had thought the season was over for the team. After a complete turn around, with Adeel Ahmed taking control of the Dolphins Division 1 team, needing to win every game the rest of the way, the Dolphins were able to put together some wins and clinch a playoffs spot by winning the last game of the season.

Coming into the playoffs the Dolphins were a 4th seed team playing the best team in the Division, in the York Cricket Club who were undefeated. The Dolphins looked to struggle with the bat but with individual performances were able to put up a score they were comfortable defending. The Dolphins bowling attack dominated the York batting line up and they need to continue their momentum from this game into the Finals, looking to replicate their previous game against the Stallions CC.

The keys to victory for the Dolphins will be to continue playing how they have played their last 4 games. The Dolphins seemed to dominate their opponents in their previous 4 games specially with the bowl and in the field. The Dolphins need to work on their batting as they have practiced all week preparing for the Finals. If the Dolphins choose to do better with the bat and put up a respectable score they are comfortable defending, the game will be very easy for them going forward.

The keys to victory for the Stallions Cricket Club will be to play how they played in their previous game, winning the semi final and dominating their opponent. Stallions CC need to make sure to play well against the Dolphins bowling attack as they need to score runs and put up a respectable total in order to win the game. Many opponents haven’t been successful while batting under pressure against the Dolphins bowling attack, so the Stallions CC need to make sure they are prepared well for this game.

The Mississauga Dolphins urge everyone to come out and support the competitive cricket we have to offer at 12pm in Sunnybrook Park in Toronto, Ontario.

We wish both teams the best of luck in the Finals.

Division 3: Finals – Dolphins Vs Toronto Lead CC Preview

The Mississauga Dolphins Division 3 team, time after time put in effort in their own game throughout the year practicing in the off season and during the season, putting their bodies on the line in the field and becoming better cricketers all for this moment; playing in the finals. The Dolphins have come so far this season, with their next goal is to win the championship this Saturday against the Toronto Lead Cricket Club.

Led by Taha Usmani, the playing XI will need to give it their all as it all comes down to this game. The Dolphins will look to replicate their semi finals performance as they dominated their opponents.

They keys to victory for the Dolphins is to continue their recent way of play as their Pacers have dominated the game so far. Taha Usmani will need to utilize his batsmen well in order to cement a victory early or later on in the game. The Dolphins have done well recently in the field, not giving any chances and they need to continue to do that in this game as it is important that the Dolphins don’t lose any momentum in this game because of a miss field or a dropped catch. If the Dolphins chose to play a perfect game, they will be champions in the end.

The keys to victory for the Toronto Lead CC will be to continue the way they also have been recently playing, putting their opponents under pressure early on and taking advantage of it. The Toronto Lead CC lost all their games against the Dolphins this year and they need to make sure they dont get under pressure as that is what cost them their previous 3 meetings.

The Mississauga Dolphins urge everyone to come out and support the competitive cricket we have to offer at 12pm in Sunnybrook Park in Toronto, Ontario.

We wish both teams the best of luck in the Finals.

Division 1: Dolphins Miracle Run Continues As They Advance to The Finals

The Division 1 Mississauga Dolphins facing adversity at the start of the season going on multiple losing streaks, had many critics and doubters on the team even making the playoffs, let alone having a deep playoffs run. Putting all those aside and focusing on their game, Skipper Adeel Ahmed and the Dolphins went on winning streaks leading to the last game of the season, which they won in dominating fashion giving them a spot in the playoffs. The Dolphins would face an opponent in York Cricket Club, a team who has been unbeaten so far and has been dominating teams throughout the season. The Dolphins had won the toss and elected to bat first on a sunny day.

With Husnain Riaz and Dhruv Patel opening the innings for the Dolphins, they look to provide a start the team can build off of and post a total they are comfortable defending. Husnain and Dhruv would put together 16 runs before Dhruv departed scoring 3 runs and Husnain would follow him back as well the very next ball, being caught at midwicket, scoring 10 runs. The Dolphins now 16 for 2 after 5 overs, look to be feeling some pressure as they lost two quick wickets. Peer Abuzar and Bashar Ashfaq now on to the crease, they look to add runs to the board and bring momentum back towards the Dolphins. Abuzar and Bashar would do a good job rotating the strike, not playing any risky shots which led to them putting up an 18 run partnership before Bashar departed scoring 7 runs.

Sher Rehman Khan coming in to bat, he looks to continue his recent form, quick scoring runs. After a 21 run partnership, that wouldn’t be the case for Sher as he departs scoring 7 runs, leading to drinks break. Yawer Naved now onto the crease, he looks to do some damage with the bat, adding runs to the board. Peer Abuzar now feeling confident with the bat, he looked to go down the pitch to hit some maximums and crushes 2 back to back out of the park, bumping up the score. Yawer and Abuzar would put together 23 runs before Abuzar departed scoring a team high 39 runs. Hamza Hameed would come in to bat, looking to defend his wicket and add runs to the board. Miscommunication would lead to Hamza being run out and eventually would also lead Yawer to be run out as well as Hamza departed scoring 0 and Yawer scoring 8 runs.

With the Dolphins now 83 for 7, Farzan Muljiani and Adeel Ahmed would come to bat as the two look to push the score past 100 runs. Adeel and Farzan would put together 9 runs before Farzan departed scoring 3 runs. Saad Ahmed on to bat, he looks to add to the score as he has 8 overs left to play. Adeel and Saad did a great job rotating strike and beating the bad balls, leading to a 13 run partnership before Adeel departed scoring 9 runs.

With the Dolphins now 105 for 9, Muhammad Rameez would come to bat looking to add as many runs as he can and to play out the allotted 40 overs. Rameez and Saad rotated the strike well and pushed to tally runs as each run counted. Rameez and Saad would put together a 12 run partnership which would take the Dolphins to 117 runs before Rameez departed scoring 8 runs. The Dolphins would be bowled out for 117 runs after 39 overs.

Looking to defend a low total, Skipper Adeel Ahmed need to make sure the message of intensity has been sent to his playing XI and most importantly to the opening bowlers.

The message was definitely received as the opening bowler Husnain Riaz would go on to pick up the first wicket for the Dolphins on the second ball of the innings. York Cricket Club looked to be under pressure right off the bat and the Dolphins looked to continue that pressure moving forward. Saad Ahmed bowling from the other end, looked to continue applying pressure on the batsmen. In his 2nd over, Saad would pick up back to back wickets, completely changing the atmosphere of the game and putting himself on a hat-trick. Although he wasn’t able to pick up a hat-trick, he did in fact leave a gaping hole in York CC’s batting line up. Husnain Riaz continuing his magnificent spell, would pick up 2 more wickets as he continued his wicket to wicket bowling.

York CC now 12 for 5 after 7 overs, the Dolphins seemed to have taken their foot off the gas as the batsmen were able to put up a 10 run partnership before Husnain Riaz once again would find the breakthrough for the Dolphins picking up his 4 wicket of the game and the 6th in total for the inning. York CC looked to be struggling as they find themselves 20 for 6 after 9 overs.

York CC batsmen would once again put up a decent partnership as the batsmen were able to put together 21 runs before Hamza Hameed would find the breakthrough for the Dolphins picking up 2 wickets. The Dolphins gaining some momentum their way once again, they don’t seem to capitalize on it as the batsmen would put together a 30 run partnership in the game, this being the highest for York CC, before Hamza Hameed once again would breakthrough for the Dolphins picking up his 3rd wicket in the game.

York CC now 77 for 9 and 41 runs still remaining, they have a tough task ahead of them as they only have 9 overs remaining and only 1 wicket to spare. Yawer Naved being called into the attack, he would follow through as he picks up his first wicket of the game, leading to York CC being bowled out for 81 runs, with the Dolphins doing the impossible, winning this game by 37 runs.

The Dolphins hurdled many obstacles in their way and finally were able to prove many people wrong as they punch their way to the finals. The Dolphins will have a week to prepare for their next opponent which comes in the biggest game of the season for them as it is the Championship game.

The Dolphins look to face-off against the Stallions Cricket Club next week at Sunnybrook Park.

Division 3: Dolphins Advance to The Finals With Dominating Performance

The Division 3 Mississauga Dolphins, being the most consistent team this year for the Dolphins, led by Taha Usmani, come into this Semi-Final matchup against the Team Tigers Cricket Club with great confidence and desire to win, going to the championship game. Team Tigers had won the toss and elected to bat first.

Looking to have a great start, Skipper Taha Usmani chose his opening bowlers from last week as they provided a great start and carried momentum towards the Dolphins from there on. Fawaz Alaziz and Safi Jalali opening for the Dolphins, had a great start as they restricted Team Tigers CC to very few runs as they looked to pick up the first wicket of the game. Fawaz Alaziz was able to find the breakthrough and pick up the first wicket of the game, having Team Tigers CC at 13 runs for 1 loss after 5 overs. This wicket is what bumped the confidence for the Dolphins as Fawaz was able to pick up his 2nd wicket of the game his next over having Team Tigers CC at 15 for 2 after 7 overs.

Safi Jalali looking to replicate his performance from the previous game looks to get things going as he picks up his 1st wicket, with Muneeb Ashfaq taking a blinder at slips and as Skipper Taha Usmani would say, “That catch was a game changer for us.” Safi would go on to pick up 2 more wickets in his next over, with Team Tigers now in the middle of a collapse being 16 for 5 after 10 overs. Usmani, using his bowlers with great confidence, would bowl out both Fawaz and Safi as they would both finish their spells giving up 30 runs and picking up 5 wickets in the 16 overs the two bowled. Fawaz would finish with 8 overs bowled, bowling 2 maidens, picking up 2 wickets and giving up 21 runs. Safi on the other hand would also bowl 8 overs, bowling 3 maidens and picking up 3 wickets while giving up 9 runs.

Taha Usmani would now bring himself in to bowl and find success right away as he picks up his first wicket on the third bowl of his over, having Team Tigers CC at 31 for 6 after 16.3 overs. Ahmed Kamal into the attack would also do the same thing Usmani did as he picked up a wicket in his first over as well with Bilal Asif taking a wonderful catch. Taha Usmani would follow up with another wicket his next over and Ahmed would pick up another wicket after Usmani’s over.

Team Tigers CC now 38 for 9 after 19.1 overs, they look to add as many runs as they can as their batting has failed them in this game. Taha Usmani would pick up the 10th wicket of the game in the next over with Muneeb Ashfaq once again taking a blinder at 1st slip. This would lead to the Dolphins bowling out the Team Tigers CC for 42 runs in 20.3 overs.

With an amazing bowling performance, the Dolphins look to translate this performance to the batting and look to chase this total down with ease and book their ticket to the finals.

Skipper Taha Usmani has Mazhar Jaffri and Fayez Alaziz open up the innings as they look to chase this total down. Providing a fiery start, Mazhar Jaffri and Fayez Alaziz were roaring early on with the bat, hitting boundaries every other ball. The quick start would lead to batsmen losing discipline which lead to the first wicket of the game as Mazhar Jaffri departed scoring 10 runs. The Dolphins being 24 for 1 after 2.3 overs, Shazray Haroon would walk in to bat looking to replicate Mazhar’s performance. Shazray would depart the very first ball he faces as he is caught out and the Dolphins now feel some pressure as the Team Tigers bowler is now on a hat trick and Dolphins look to avoid an early collapse. Bilal Asif now on to bat, he looks to rotate strike and chase this total down. Bilal and Fayez would partner up for 3 runs before Fayez departed scoring 13 runs.

The Dolphins now 27 for 3 after 5 overs, don’t seem to be fazed as Skipper Taha Usmani has faith in his batsmen and giving the lower order batsmen a chance to make some runs with only 15 runs to go. Farhan Ayyub now on the crease, does a great job defending his wicket and rotating strike with Bilal Asif. Pushing the score forward, Bilal and Farhan would put together a 4 run partnership before Bilal departed scoring 4 runs.

The Dolphins now 31 for 4 after 8.1 overs, Farhan Ayyub and new batsmen Zaid Hasham would settle down and only rotate strike when they have the opportunity to. This process kept the scoring ticking with the wickets being intact. With only 2 runs to win, Farhan Ayyub looked to hit big and finish off the game in style before being caught out and departing scoring 3 runs. Ahmed Kamal would come in to bat and score the winning runs as the Dolphins would chase down the small total and win the game by 5 wickets.

A dominating performance, leads the Dolphins into the finals and they hope to replicate this performance as winning the Finals in this fashion would be astonishing.

The Dolphins look to face off against the Toronto Lead Cricket Club next week at Sunnybrook Park.

Division 1: Semi-Finals – Dolphins Vs York CC Preview

After many early season struggles and losing streaks, with many people doubting this years Division 1 Mississauga Dolphins team, Skipper Adeel Ahmed and his playing XI were able to put all the criticism aside as their main focus was winning games down the stretch and closing out the season qualifying for the playoffs. That is something exactly what the players did as they felt confident going into games knowing what they need to do in order to win the game.

All of that has led to this weekend and something everyone thought was impossible; playing in the Semi-Finals. The playoffs are here and the players are excited as they have turned their focus to one game at a time and to this weeks opponent the York Cricket Club.

The Dolphins put their struggles aside down the late stretch of the season and they will look to continue being successful in picking up a win here, giving York Cricket Club their first loss of the season and send them home packing while the Dolphins move into the finals.

The Keys to victory for the Dolphins will be to replicate their performance from their last game of the season as they dominated the game in all aspects on a very cold evening. The Dolphins bowling hasn’t struggled and they need to keep that up while performing better with the bat and in the field as well. Many catch drops cost some games early on and the Dolphins cant afford to give any 2nd chances.

Keys to victory for the York CC will be to replicate their performance from every game as they haven’t lost a game yet this season. York CC will need to make sure to be humble and not get ahead of themselves in order to move on into the finals.

We wish both teams the best of luck.

Division 3: Semi-Finals – Dolphins Vs Teams Tigers CC Preview

The moment we have all been waiting for this season, has been the start of the playoffs and that time has finally arrived where the Division 3 Mississauga Dolphins look to face off against the Team Tigers Cricket Club in this Semi-Finals Match-up.

Finding some great success early on in the season, followed by some struggles with the bat, then picking up their game once again, the Dolphins look to give it their all and perform their best cricket this game as if they win they move on to the finals next week.

The Keys to Victory for the Dolphins will be to continue their pace attack they used throughout the season as there wasn’t a game where the bowlers seemed to struggle. The Dolphins need to make sure to not fall under pressure and lose their wickets early on as this has led to many collapses throughout the season. A collapse in a Semi-Final game is definitely something Skipper Taha Usmani wouldn’t want.

The Keys to Victory for the Tigers will be to put their struggles aside and to have fun with this game and be confident. They have the bowlers and fire power to win games as they have made it to the playoffs and therefore, they would need to continue their success and bring momentum towards them in order to move on.

We wish both teams the best of luck in this game.

Division 1: Dolphins Complete Impossible Season Comeback Clinching A Playoffs Spot

The Dolphins Division 1 team coming into a must win game in their final game of the season, look to pick up the win and punch their way into a playoffs spot against the Ghaznavi Cricket Club. The Dolphins had won the toss and elected to bat first.

Looking for a great start right off the bat, the Dolphins skipper, Adeel Ahmed decided to have Husnain Riaz and Dhruv Patel open the innings with Dhruv looking to rotate the strike well while Husnain looks for the big shots. Husnain and Dhruv would go on to scoring a 23 run partnership before Dhruv departed scoring 20 runs after 3 overs. Peer Abuzar would step in to bat looking to add runs to the board. Husnain and Abuzar would partner up for 7 runs before Husnain Riaz departed scoring 6 runs. Bashar Ashfaq now into the attack, he looks to put up a big score and help the team qualify for the playoffs. Bashar and Abuzar put up 13 runs before Abuzar departed scoring 7 runs.

Sher Khan now in to bat, he looks to continue his batting form looking to score big this inning. Sher and Bashar did an amazing job rotating strike and scoring runs as they went on to score a 59 run partnership before Sher departed scoring 34 runs. Yawer Naved would now come to bat looking to add runs to the board as the Dolphins are only at 102 runs for 4 wickets after 19 overs. Yawer and Bashar put up a 32 run partnership before Bashar departed, scoring 43 runs, just missing out on his half century. Muneeb Ashfaq now in to bat, he looks to continue his quick fire innings from the morning game, bumping up the score. With Yawer doing most of the scoring, he and Muneeb put up a 45 run partnership before Muneeb departed scoring 6 runs. During this process, Yawer would reach the half century mark and looks to add more runs to the board.

The Dolphins now 179 for 6 after 32 overs, Safi Jalali in to bat, he and Yawer look to add more runs as there are only 3 overs left. Yawer and Safi did great to add runs to the board, putting up a 24 run partnership, crossing the 200 mark before Yawer departed scoring a team high 71 runs. The Dolphins would close out the innings, scoring 208 runs for 8 wickets after the allotted 35 overs.

With a big total on the board, the Dolphins look to defend this total with ease, and punch their way into the playoffs.

The Dolphins had the start they dreamt of with Husnain Riaz picking up a wicket the very first ball of the inning. With the great start they had, the Dolphins didn’t capitalize on the early wicket by applying pressure among the rest of the batsmen as they were able to score runs with ease putting up a 20 run partnership in the first 3 overs before Husnain Riaz would find another breakthrough for the Dolphins, picking up his 2nd wicket of the game.

2 balls later, the Dolphins would pick up the 3rd wicket of the game with a phenomenal direct hit run out from the 45 yard line by Bashar Ashfaq. This wicket brought all the momentum back towards the Dolphins as everyone on the field was ecstatic. Husnain Riaz would pick up his 3rd wicket of the game and the pressure continued. 3 runs later, Safi Jalali would join in on the fun taking a wicket of his own with Saad Ahmed taking a phenomenal catch at Cover.

Ghaznavi CC now at 30 runs for 5 wickets after 8 overs, the Dolphins looked to take their foot off the gas as they got really lazy and let the cold winds take control of the game. The batsmen where able to add runs to the board very slowly as they didn’t care much about the win but rather playing out the 35 overs. The Ghaznavi batsmen were able to score an 86 run partnership before Bashar Ashfaq got the breakthrough the Dolphins needed by picking up the 6th wicket of the game. Bashar would follow up with another wicket giving him a chance at a hat-trick. Bashar was unable to capture a hat-trick but the pressure lived on.

Saad Ahmed into the attack he would follow up to do the same thing in his 2nd over, picking up 2 wickets and giving himself a chance at a hat-trick. He also was unable to capture a hat-trick but the pressure also continued to live on.

The Dolphins were unable to bowl out their opponents as Ghaznavi played out the 35 overs scoring 134 runs for 9 wickets.

The Dolphins put this win behind them now as all their hard work in the 2nd half of the season finally pays off and they find themselves in a playoffs spot.

The Dolphins now look to turn their attention towards their semi-final opponents the York Cricket Club who are currently undefeated and look to be dethroned this Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Sunnybrook Park.

Division 3: Dolphins Clinch #1 Seed Going into The Playoffs

Coming into their final game of the season, the Mississauga Dolphins Division 3 team look to pick up a win and finish as the #1 seed going into the playoffs against the Wolfpack Cricket Club. The Dolphins had won the toss and elected to take the field first.

Looking to have a great start, the Dolphins had a shaky first over as it went for 14 runs and the runs piled on very early. The Dolphins bowlers Safi Jalali and Fawaz Alaziz took no pressure amongst themselves as they looked to bowl better moving forward. Safi Jalali in the very next over would leak some runs but also pick up the first 2 wickets of the game, having Wolfpack Cricket Club at 22 for 2 after 2 overs. Fawaz continued to bowl great and picked up a wicket his next over and had Wolfpack CC at 24 for 3 after 3 overs, with the run rate now coming down.

For the next 6 overs, the Dolphins weren’t able to pick up a wicket but really slowed down the run-rate as Safi and Fawaz would give up only 12 runs during the process. Skipper Taha Usmani would bring himself in the attack and look to maintain the pressure Fawaz had kept going with Safi. Safi would pick up a wicket his next over, as his spell continued. Taha Usmani would pick up a wicket of his own the next over he bowled and had the momentum completely with the Dolphins.

Wolfpack CC being 38 for 5 after 11 overs, Safi Jalali would go on to pick up 2 more wickets in his final over, finishing with his maiden 5 wicket haul. Safi bowled a tremendous spell, consistently bowling with pace and accuracy in his line and length. Safi finished his spell, bowling 7 overs with 4 maidens, giving up only 10 runs and picking up 5 wickets. With Wolfpack CC now 40 for 7 after 14 overs. The pressure continued from the Dolphins as Muneeb Ashfaq would pick up a wicket in his first over and have the Wolfpack CC now 42 for 8 after 16 overs.

With the Wolfpack CC now struggling, the Dolphins would take their foot off the gas pedal as the bowlers seemed to be lazy not applying the same pressure and leading runs on the board. The Wolfpack batsmen were able to put up a 17 run partnership before Yawer would find the breakthrough for the Dolphins and 9 runs later would again deliver for the Dolphins as the Dolphins would bowl out Wolfpack CC for 68 runs in 26.4 overs.

Having a very low total ahead of them to chase, the Dolphins don’t want to get on their high horses as they look to maintain their attitude because anything can happen. Earlier in the season the Dolphins were unable to chase a total of 50 runs so they really have to be focused coming into this chase.

Peer Abuzar and Yawer Naved look to provide a good start as the two go on to chase this total down. Abuzar and Yawer did a great job protecting their wicket against tremendous bowling and looked to rotate strike. The two were able to put up 20 runs before Yawer departed looking for the big shot, scoring 11 runs as he walked off. Bashar Ashfaq in to bat now, he looks to continue to add pressure towards the Wolfpack Cricket Club. He and Abuzar would put up a 3 run partnership before Abuzar was caught at slips and dismissed for 5 runs.

Shazray Haroon in to bat, he looks to play his recent innings as he scored many runs in his previous games, looking to be in form. Shazray and Bashar would put up a 7 run partnership before Bashar departed scoring 5 runs. Shazray would follow him a run later and depart on a questionable LBW call. Shazray scored 4 runs.

With the Dolphins now being 31 for 4 after 10 overs, they looked to be struggling as there are only 38 runs left to chase with 6 wickets left. With Mazhar Jaffri and Muneeb Ashfaq on the crease, Mazhar looks to playing a supporting role and rotating strike defending his wicket while Muneeb looks for the big shots. The two did great to put up runs as they paired up for a 27 run partnership within the next 3 overs before Muneeb departed scoring a team high 21 runs. Fayez Alaziz now onto the crease and 11 runs to go, Fayez and Mazhar look to rotate the strike and bring home the win. The two do just that as Fayez took charge of the scoring, putting up 7 runs of his own and with the help of extras were able to chase down he total, winning the game by 5 wickets and securing the #1 spot going into the playoffs.

A fun and great regular season under the Captaincy of Taha Usmani has come to an end and the Skipper and his boys look towards the playoffs as their quest to hoist the championship moves onto stage 3 now.

The Dolphins will practice hard this week and look to be ready for their opponents next week as they look to face off against the Team Tigers Cricket Club, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Caledonia Park.

Elite: Despite Heartbreaking Loss, Dolphins Slim Playoffs Hopes Still Alive

Coming into their final game of the season, The Dolphins look to win this game and punch their way into the playoffs against the Toronto Eagles/Lords Cricket Club. Skipper Armaan Kapoor had won the toss and elected to bat first.

The Dolphins had a wonderful start to the game as openers Dhruv Patel and Hafeez Ullah played extremely well setting the standard for batting the rest of the way. Hafeez and Dhruv did well to rotate strike and go for the boundaries when needed. The two did a great job adding runs to the board as they were needed as it is a must win game. During this process Hafeez would go on to score his half century and looked to pile more runs on the board. Dhruv and Hafeez put up a 99 run partnership before Dhruv departed scoring 36 runs.

After being 99 for 1 after 24 overs, the Dolphins had a little collapse as 3 more wickets would fall with in the next 10 runs, with Armaan Kapoor scoring 0 runs, Viren Patel scoring 3 runs and Bashar Ashfaq also scoring 0 runs. Peer Abuzar now into the attack, he and Hafeez would have a 10 run partnership before a miscommunication on a no ball led to Hafeez being run out. Hafeez scored a team high 69 runs.

Jaiveer Chauhan now on to bat, he and Abuzar look to continue adding runs to the board as after 30 overs, the Dolphins are at only 120 runs. Abuzar and Jaiveer were only able to have a 7 run partnership before Abuzar would depart and Jaiveer would follow him 11 runs laters as the Dolphins now are at 136 runs for 7 wickets, looking to be struggling a little. Sher Khan and Taha Ali now batting, the two looked to take control of the situation adding runs to the board and bringing momentum over towards the Dolphins. They did a great job as the two scored a 27 run partnership, bumping the score up to 163 runs before Taha departed scoring 18 runs.

With 4 overs left, the Dolphins would lose another wicket 11 runs and 1 over later as Sher Khan was run out scoring 11 runs. The Dolphins now 174 for 9 and 3 overs remaining, Husnain Riaz and Saad Ahmed look to close the inning out scoring as much as they can. Husnain Riaz took control of the score himself as he quick fired runs every over looking for the big shot every ball. Saad Ahmed did a great job supporting, rotating strike and adding a long ball himself. The two would score a 30 run partnership in the last 2.5 overs before Saad Ahmed was run out, ending the inning for the Dolphins, being all out scoring 204 runs after 44.5 overs.

The Dolphins now scoring a total they feel comfortable with defending, look to win this game and moving into the playoffs.

The Dolphins bowlers, Saad Ahmed, Viren Patel and Husnain Riaz did a great job bowling dot balls and not giving the batsmen many options to score runs. The applied pressure led to Husnain Riaz picking up the first wicket of the game having the Toronto Eagles/Lords CC at 32 runs for 1 wicket after 10.1 overs. The Dolphins would continue to apply pressure, keeping a low score, leading to their 2nd wicket 53 runs later with Taha Ali getting the breakthrough for the Dolphins.

Toronto Eagles/Lords CC now 45 for 2 after 24 overs, the Dolphins pressure led to another wicket the very next over, with Armaan Kapoor picking up a wicket in his first over. After having Toronto Eagles/Lords CC 87 for 3 after 25 overs, the Dolphins seemed to have stopped playing as the opposing batsmen were able to rotate strike, hit boundaries and take control of the game as the batsmen would go on to scoring a 95 run partnership as that sealed the game and the chances of the Dolphins making the playoffs.

Toronto Eagles/Lords CC now 182 for 4, would chase the total down with ease and win this game by 6 wickets with 8.5 overs to spare.

Looking back into the season, the Dolphins had a roller coaster of a season as many games were rained out, some poor performance that the players would like to take back, many great performances and a lot of learning from their first year in the elite division.

The Dolphins though, aren’t completely out of playoffs contention yet, such as if Toronto Eagles/Lords CC lose their next 2 games, the Dolphins would qualify based on net run-rate. As the chances are very slim, the hopes of qualifying are still very alive and we wait for this upcoming weekend for the results.

Division 3: Dolphins Vs Wolfpack Cricket Club Preview

Coming into the final game of the season, the Mississauga Dolphins Division 3 team look to maintain their #1 seed in the playoffs as they look to face off against the Wolfpack Cricket Club.

The Dolphins will look to continue their success with the ball and pick up quick wickets while also restricting the Wolfpack Score. Wolfpack CC coming off a win, will look to continue their winning streak in this game.

Keys to Victory for the Wolfpack CC will be to utilize the Dolphins spin and pace well. They need to make sure their top order clicks and have a good start within the first 10 overs of the game.

The Keys for victory for the Dolphins are they need to stick to their basics with the ball as it has worked so far, and need to apply pressure with the bat scoring runs and finally putting up a high total this weekend.

If the Dolphins are successful in scoring runs and picking up quick wickets, getting the win and going into the playoffs as the best team won’t be an issue.

We wish both teams the best of luck!
